i love how the artist works with few figures but the expressiveness of each makes up for the open spaces. actually, his choice of leaving a lot of negative space is one of the things that atract me the most. the cut work is also very interesting, how he deforms the bodies and lets us see them a little weird, which is how we should all look at the world, a little off its axis. i cant express how much the lack of faces intrigues me, theres something about art in search of identity that hugs me. i can relate this to my art when i have the urge to cover a face or to paint over it. the anonimity of the body also lets us indulge more in the composition of his forms and colors. he´s one of the artists who´s allowing me to believe that its ok to have one figure in the center. for some reason i have always wanted to keep it there, but felt it was wrong. im figuring out nothing is ever wrong, at least in art.
